F.E.A.R 3 has taken me by surprise. I had almost forgotten about due to the Duke Nukem drama and Battlefield 3 hype, so, when it arrived this morning, I wasn’t too excited to play it. I dragged my tired ass out of bed, slipped the disc into the console to check out how it would play. What was supposed to be a few minute trial over the game ended up being several hours. The game hooked me. The shooting mechanics [...]

Since I heard about Ubisoft’s decision to launch a studio to work on TV and film adaptations of their video game franchises, I’ve been thinking a lot about games and the silver screen. There have been quite a few video game based movies in the last 20 years, but most of them have been received poorly by film critics and gamers alike. There are some exceptions with a handful of adaptations actually receiving good reviews as well as a positive [...]
The console war seems to be getting more serious and intense every year as the industry is constantly growing bigger and gaining more popularity in the mainstream pop-culture. The video game industry has never been as huge as right now, and as a result it has become a very competitive market. The big three(Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft) are neck to neck with the PlayStation 3 and 360 competing for the “hardcore” gaming market, while Nintendo seems to dominate the more [...]
L.A. Noire is a sandbox detective game based in the 1940s. Whether or not you solve some of the game’s sinister crimes purely depends on your ability to analyze and think on your feet. There will be shootouts, car chases, murders to solve, and the outcome all depends on how you play the game. You could say that L.A. Noire is a one of a kind type of game, but is it really? Anyone remember the classic Police Quest series?

Like people don’t have enough to deal with right now. War rages on all across the globe. Countries are on the verge of a full economical collapse. Yet, some people feel like they are victims of some massive conspiracy by some evil corporation that is trying to screw them over–why? Because Sony removed OtherOS from their PlayStation 3 consoles; a decision that was made because of people exploiting the feature. When Sony finally put their foot down and vowed to [...]
Something is fishy about the whole LG versus Sony case. LG filed for preliminary injunction for Sony’s PlayStation 3 over the use of patent Blu-ray technology, and won. Thousands upon thousands of PlayStation 3 consoles have been seized from customs in Europe.
First of all, after reviewing the case I noticed that the injunction has very little to do with Blu-ray technology, but rather PlayStation 3 technology. Sony are not using this technology in anyway to enhance their Blu-ray player — it’s all [...]
I got quite concerned the other day after playing MAG. You see, MAG is one of my favorite first person shooter games — it’s so great, in fact, that you cannot call yourself a fan of the genre if you don’t already have it. I played MAG for hours on end, but wasn’t really enjoying myself. Why? Because I sucked. My kill death ratio was 1:5, and would I usually end up with 3 kills to 15 deaths at the [...]
