Microsoft’s E3 conference had a lot of competition this year as both Nintendo and Sony were showcasing new systems. Last year Microsoft showcased the Kinect so many expected their 2011 conference to focus mostly on new games and uses for their motion sensor peripheral. Peter Molyneux, Lionhead creative director, has released a video via OXM UK, claiming that the gameplay video of Fable: The Journey from Microsoft’s E3 2011 press conference hasn’t done it justice. It can be understood from the gameplay video shown on stage that the game is “on rails” which is, according to Molyneux, a “horrendous mistake”.
