Here is attempt at making a video game based on the South Park franchise, and what better way to do it than using a type of game that is already successful – such as Tower Defense. It should work right? South Park fans will be able to play their favorite characters, fighting other likable characters from the show (cows, hippies, old people and more). Tower Defense fans will find the familiar games mechanics and if you like this kind of games – there is a good chance you will like this game too.
Playing South Park Let’s Go Tower Defense Play! is fairly simple to play. You move around the screen, collect coins dropped by enemies and build and upgrade towers with the coins you collected. It is not a bad game. It’s not a good game, but it has its moments. The soundtrack is good, the collectibles are nice (especially if you are South Park fans) and the design is great. The graphic is good though everything is a bit tinny – so it is hard to admire.
Unfortunately, co-op mode and online multiplayaer are necessary in order to enjoy the game. You can try playing the game alone, but controlling one character while the others are sitting there like a snow throwing tower is not fun – just frustrating. The co-op and online can be fun, and they are actually the only dissent way to play the game.
If you really like South Park, and tower defense games, and have 3 friends to play with that share the same passion – go for it. I won’t judge you (not in your face anyway). No seriously – you would probably enjoy it quite a lot that way. If you are used to playing single, and not to match up with random people on the net, and South Park or Tower Defenses game are not really your thing, you can skip this game and never look back.
