Valve is currently thinking about supporting cross-play between Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 and allow players of both games to play together.

According to Valve’s Doug Lombardi, said is “trying to work out the details”. “Nothing specific to say today, but we understand that it’s a very valid thing to be working on and looking at”.

Plans for user-made content to be compatible with both games were already announced in the past.
