On a recent 1UP Yours podcast from January 22th it was revealed that a new Grand Theft Auto is coming.
“There’s another Grand Theft coming but it’s not on the system you think it is. There’s another GTA that they haven’t announced yet, that’s not on a console. They haven’t announced it… but… It’s a handheld. There’s a handheld GTA coming”
Since we already know about Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for DS this only leaves the iPhone or PSP – both are very reasonable options. Konami announced recently that Metal Gear Solid is getting an iPhone version and the recent GTA on PSP was released over two years ago.
Since PSP is considered a console, I guess we are going to see a new GTA title for the iPhone in 2009.
GTA SA Stories for PSP ? I hope so .
I didn’t even know that the iPhone is considered a handheld…
However, I hope the new Grand Theft Auto Title is coming for the PSP System, or both.
Maybe a Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Stories? -That would rock!

I’d rather have a PSP one, because the old Grand Theft Auto games on PSP are getting old, and they could really use a new GTA on PSP so that they can update it with new-ish graphics and new gaming implements, such as the ones in GTA4… They won’t make a San Andreas Stories, because the game is a significant amount more GB in size than a UMD can hold. They might make a smaller GTA4 for PSP, or maybe bring Chinatown Wars to PSP?
Dunno, but I don’t consider a DS a console… It’s more of a toy in my opinion. The day they bring some more hardcore games to the DS, I’ll consider buying one. The iPhone? Seriously, R*? Wow. If they wanted to make ANOTHER Grand Theft Auto with sucky graphics, they should just make more for DS!!.. And I doubt Chinatown Wars is selling well, because the majority of gamers on DS are around 8 years old. So, I don’t know what happened THERE, I would have HOPED they made GTA on Wii first. Because Wii has some pretty good games, such as Resident Evil 4.
