If you already finished Fallout 3, you know that after the game ends, it ends. Even if you have unfinished side quests, once the credits are rolling, all is lost. 360 and PC gamers will now be able to continue playing them even after the game ends with a new Patch coming out.

Microsoft didn’t even pay for the content, they paid for its exclusivity. It’s not like M$ went to Beth and said, “Hey, will you make this DLC for us?” No, they said, “Hey, here’s some money to keep your DLC away from the PS3.”
I was saving up to get a 360 to get alongside my PS3, but this DLC thing is the last straw… It’s not only dirty, it’s malicious. Microsoft has a large and clear lead over Sony in consoles sold. They don’t need to and shouldn’t deprive the PS3 owners of content such as this. Especially when the economy is in such a desperate state, and many people can only afford one console. All it does is foster more ill will and turn people like me into “fanboys”. Because of their greed and nasty tactics, I have decided from here on out that I shall boycott Microsoft consoles.
I know I am denying myself access to some awesome games, but I must take a stand and vote with my dollar. It may not be much, but I know many others who feel the same way I do. I don’t speak alone.
Oh, and Mr Howard said, “Not AT THIS TIME, no.”(I added caps for emphasis) That could mean many things. PS3 may have to wait a while, or they might even have something completely different in store the PS3. That statement has so much wiggle room that it means almost nothing.
Hell with Bethesda. First no demo released and now is not releasing patches for PS3. What’ the benefit of getting it for PS3. Amidst play it on Pc.

DJSatan – there is a huge difference between Microsoft buying off Bethesda for THIRD party exclusive content and Sony stopping THEIR films from being in the 360/Netflix deal.

You all realize that the consoles used to have exclusive third-party games, right? The companies would buy the rights to the games so they wouldn’t come out on different consoles. This is the same thing. But instead of buying the rights to entire games, they’re buying the rights to downloadable content. And seeing as how none of you work for either of the companies, you don’t really know the whole story. You don’t know that Bethesda was bribed into developing content only for the 360. Microsoft may have simply comissioned the content to be made for them, like a bride ordering a custome-made one-of-a-kind wedding dress. Sony could probably do the same if they were willing to hand over the bucks. Maybe sometime down the line, Sony will pay Bethesda to create PS3-exclusive content. The fact of the matter is that 360 has a larger audience. PS3 is a great console, but 360 is cheaper and more accessible, so there are more people playing it. Yes, I know it adds up when you tack on an HDD for $20-80 (not $150) and Xbox Live Gold for $30 (not $70; Silver is completely free), but you have to consider how much easier it is when you can wait to buy the different upgrades. One console isn’t better than the other; they’re actually very similar (gaming isn’t about how many add-ons you can get). But unfortunately, money is the deciding factor here. I, like many others, would love to have a PS3 so we can play exclusive titles like Ratchet & Clank and Little Big Planet, but it’s not reasonably affordable. And quite frankly, I don’t want blu-ray, so I don’t see why I should have to pay for it (and don’t forget about the lack of backwards compatibility). Would all of you PS3 gamers complain less if Fallout 3 simply was just an Xbox exclusive?

Ok, first off, Bethesda has made the MOST advanced RPG games since their first arrival into the gaming industry. I mean, does anyone remember true gaming these days? How about when consoles couldn’t compete with the PC and console fanboys all bitched about not being able to use, much less afford, a pc!
What I’m getting at is this; The gaming market is just like the weather, it’s always changing and can just as easily change directions. Who here actually played Metroid before we KNEW ‘he’ was a ’she’!? Yeah, I was one of those early gamers. I’ve watched the industry grow from Duck Hunt to Gears of War 2. And how many people remember that Sega use to make the BEST console of it’s day?
So maybe there is a tidal shift in the direction of where gaming is going. I’m willing to bet that soon there won’t even be games lining shelves in the stores. It’s all going to be DLC and each game will have different variations depending on who you download it from, as apposed to what system you play it on.
I guess this really was just ramblimg, my bad. I’m just bored, hence reading the bitching and whining from above. As for myself, I own a PS3 because I didn’t see the sanity in buying a blue ray disc player when for a few more bucks, I could just buy a gaming console.
