Toumani Diabate, the musician behind the music responsible for LittleBigPlanet being delayed defends himself.
Diabate, a Muslim himself, told BBC’s News:
“It’s quite normal to play music and be inspired by the words of the Prophet Mohammed. It’s my way to attract and inspire people towards Islam.”
Shaykh Ibrahim Mogra of the Muslim Council of Britain disagreed:
“Muslims believe the Qur’an to be the actual word of god and give it utmost respect. Therefore if it were to be used with the accompaniment of music or if it were to be used in a game or a commercial – that would upset and cause offense and hurt to many, many Muslims.”

well i find this dumb as well. if i put it this way, if i ever see someone’s face while he is a muslim. in my book of dictionary i hate the way he/she look. does that means he/she should go kill themselves and disappear from this world? since i find it offensive. this is not suppose to be a racist comment its just an example. but i know one thing. “most” muslim doesnt open up their thinking. this is what i know as far as what the muslim around me shows me.
Any divine being – keen to communicate Happiness, Love, Compassion, etc, would use any means available, and do this ceaselessly, to get this message across. So music in any form is acceptable.
The Koran, if taken literally does mark out music as ‘forbidden’ along with musical instruments and singing. This has not prevented some beautiful Arabic music being produced over the centuries. This is because there are a few wise people who know better than to take the Koran as a literal instruction.

i like N4G to da MAX!! and all the the hardcore gamers like u around the world. so plz don’t let such things ruin everything , in our religion if you are a gd Muslim u should respect all the other religions and of course that include ur’s and since we believe that all the religions have 1 source “GOD” we believe that we should avoid showing disrespect to our GOD by introducing his word in such a silly way i mean the games looks so fun and our GOD’s world is not a joke….
finally i have to say i was soo disappointed when i heard the delay news but in the same time i was very affraid from such a racist to rise between gamers and we truly dnt need such things…. i have so many christien friends and we never had one single racist based problem…EVER
